Breakfast at Yaksu Station: 24-Hour and Early-Opening Soup and Gimbap
Yaksu is a neighborhood people come to for a Korean BBQ dinner, but around the station and toward Sindang-dong there are soup, gimbap and set-meal places that stay open 24 hours or open in the small hours, so if you are staying nearby or passing through early you can still get a hot meal. Five are open around the clock (one on weekdays only) and a pork-bone soup shop opens at 03:00–04:00; a gimbap shop, an ox-bone soup restaurant and a set-meal restaurant open at 05:00–06:00, another gimbap shop and a pork soup shop at 07:30–08:00, and a bean-sprout soup shop at 09:00. Some are a walk from the station, so put the address into a map app to see how far.

Wonjo Honam Sundaeguk
원조호남순대국At 163 Dongho-ro; sundaeguk is ₩11,000. It is listed as open 24 hours, but Naver shows a closure every Monday from 09:00 to 04:00 on Tuesday (Kakao Map says open every day). Breakfast before 09:00 works on any day.
Ganaan Ppyeo Haejangtang
가나안뼈해장탕At 131 Dasan-ro; pork-bone hangover soup is ₩10,000. It opens every day at 03:00 (04:00 per Kakao Map) and stays open until about 22:00, so it is reliably open at breakfast.
Yukjeon Gukbap, Yaksu Station
육전국밥 약수역점At 118 Dasan-ro, right at Yaksu Station Exit 6; beef gukbap with yukjeon is ₩11,000. All sources agree on 24 hours, every day. You order on a tablet at the table, and it is easy to eat alone here.
Ssada Gimbap, Yaksu Station
싸다김밥 약수역점Near Yaksu Station Exit 2, at 129-1 Dasan-ro. Gimbap starts at ₩4,000, and there are stews and rice bowls too. It is open 24 hours every day but may close over major holidays. Order at the kiosk by the entrance.
Dumulmeori Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Sindang
두물머리양평해장국 신당점At 214 Dasan-ro; the house beef hangover soup with tripe, brisket, rib meat and intestine is ₩15,000. Kakao Map and blogs agree on 24 hours, every day.
Hadongjin
하동진At 253-1 Dasan-ro; mixed pork gukbap is ₩10,000. Open 24 hours on weekdays. Sources disagree on weekends: some say Saturday until 22:00 and Sunday from 09:00, others say 24 hours daily, so it may be closed early on Sunday morning.
Gimbap Cheonguk, Sindang 2-dong
김밥천국 신당2동점At 29 Dongho-ro 11-gil; anchovy and chili-pepper gimbap is ₩5,000. Mon–Fri 05:00–20:00, Sat 05:00–13:00, closed Sundays. The only 2026 evidence is one blog post and a Kakao street view image, so check before you go.
Byeollaeok Seolnongtang
별내옥설농탕At 193 Jangchungdan-ro; seolleongtang (ox-bone soup) is ₩13,000, or ₩16,000 for the special. It opens at 06:00 every day and closes just before midnight (23:50 or 23:55 depending on the source).
Royal Sikdang
로얄식당At 6 Dasan-ro 14-gil; a home-style set meal of rice, soup, grilled fish and side dishes is ₩7,000 in cash or ₩7,500 by card (2025 blogs). Hours are given as 06:00–20:00, but they have not been re-confirmed for 2026 and weekend opening is unknown, so call ahead.
Igong Gimbap, Sindang
이공김밥 신당점At 46 Dasan-ro 44-gil; house gimbap is ₩3,500, with stews and rice bowls as well. Sunday to Friday 07:30–20:00 (one blog says it opens at 07:00); closed Saturdays.
Misu Gukbap
미수국밥 본점At 80 Dasan-ro 42-gil; pork gukbap is ₩10,000. Three recent blogs say daily 08:00–22:00, while Kakao Map says 24 hours. Between 08:00 and 22:00 it is open either way.
Bisabeol Jeonju Kongnamul Gukbap
비사벌전주콩나물국밥At 146 Dasan-ro; the only dish is bean-sprout soup with rice, ₩10,000. It opens at 09:00 every day, so it is for a late breakfast. Monday to Saturday there is a 16:00–17:00 break; on Sunday it closes at 16:00.
Tips
- These hours were checked on 3 October 2026 against Kakao Map, Naver and blog reviews. Sources disagree on Wonjo Honam Sundaeguk's Monday closure, Ganaan's opening time and break, Hadongjin's weekend hours, whether Misu Gukbap is open 24 hours, and Igong Gimbap's opening time. Royal Sikdang has no 2026 source for its hours. Online listings change often, so check a map app for the day before you go.
- Only Royal Sikdang has separate cash and card prices in 2025 blogs, so it takes cards. The others have no payment information in the sources checked, and whether a foreign card works is unconfirmed at all twelve. All serve Korean food such as soup with rice, gimbap and set meals.

Bisabeol Jeonju Kongnamul Gukbap
비사벌전주콩나물국밥A Jeonju-style kongnamul gukbap shop (bean-sprout soup with rice) at 146 Dasan-ro. The menu has just one dish (₩10,000), so ordering is easy: say how many people and sit down. Moju, a makgeolli simmered with herbs (it contains alcohol), is ₩1,000 on the side. It opens at 09:00 every day, so it suits a late breakfast rather than an early one. It is not the same shop as the branch of the same name in Seongsu/Ttukseom.
Byeollaeok Seolnongtang
별내옥설농탕A seolleongtang (ox-bone soup) restaurant at 193 Jangchungdan-ro. It opens at 06:00 every day and stays open until just before midnight, so it works for an early breakfast. Seolleongtang is ₩13,000 and the special version with brisket and knee cartilage is ₩16,000 (blogs from August to October 2026). The Kakao Map menu (updated December 2025) also lists ox-bone soup with offal at ₩16,000 and oxtail soup at ₩28,000.
Dumulmeori Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Sindang
두물머리양평해장국 신당점A haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant at 214 Dasan-ro. It is open 24 hours every day, so breakfast works at any hour. The signature Dumulmeori haejangguk is a beef soup with tripe, brisket, rib meat and intestine, ₩15,000 (blogs from June and September 2026). There are also a tripe and ox-blood soup and an offal soup, but their prices are not confirmed.
Fritz Coffee Company, Jangchung
프릳츠 장충점A bakery-cafe about a minute's walk from Dongguk Univ. Station Exit 2. It is split across three buildings, a hanok and newer blocks, and reviews describe it as roomy with several groups meeting there during the day on weekdays. It opens at 08:00 every day, and four blog posts say it is easy to bring a stroller in (two of them mention a ramp at the entrance). A May 2026 post says a morning menu (grilled sandwiches, croque monsieur and the like) runs 08:00–11:00, with other food from 11:30.
