Public Toilets at Yaksu: Station Toilets, Open Restrooms and Late Options
Yaksu Station is a transfer point between Lines 3 and 6, and the two lines' toilets sit on opposite sides of the fare gates — inside on Line 3, outside on Line 6 — so which one you can use depends on how you arrive. Both are open 05:00–24:00. Around the station, Kakao Map lists open restrooms at a community center, a fire safety center and public car parks, but none of their hours could be confirmed. People come here for late pork BBQ dinners, and after midnight what is left is mostly shops with toilets for customers. Only what Seoul Metro's data and Kakao Map confirm is included.

Yaksu Station (Line 3) — inside the gates, Exit 3 side
Seoul Metro's station-toilet data lists it as inside the fare gates, in the B1 concourse, nearest to Exit 3. Open 05:00–24:00, with one accessible stall on each of the men's and women's sides. Because it is inside the gates, you cannot use it unless you are riding the subway. If you arrive on Line 3, use it before you tap out.
Yaksu Station (Line 6) — outside the gates, Exits 7 and 8
Seoul Metro's data lists it as outside the fare gates, in front of Exits 7 and 8 in the B1 concourse. Open 05:00–24:00, with one accessible stall on each of the men's and women's sides. You can use it without riding the subway, which makes it the most reliable option if you are eating near the station — but it closes at midnight.
Subway stations — exit and re-enter within 15 minutes for free
Seoul's free re-entry started at 10 minutes in July 2023 and was extended to 15 minutes that October, so if you exit for the toilet and tap back in at the same station within 15 minutes you are not charged a new base fare; the re-entry is processed as one transfer. Line 3 is covered between Jichuk and Ogeum and Line 6 between Eungam and Bonghwasan, so Yaksu qualifies on both lines. The Line 3 toilet is inside the gates, so you will not need this there; it is useful if you ride Line 6 and use the toilet by Exits 7 and 8. It's safest to re-enter through the same Line 6 gates you left by.
Open restrooms near Exits 8 and 9 — fire safety center, community center, welfare center, car park
These are the open restrooms on Kakao Map closest to the station: Sindang 119 Safety Center (2 Dasan-ro 8-gil), 65m from Exit 8; Yaksu-dong Community Center (92 Dasan-ro), 140m from Exit 8; Sindang Community Welfare Center (22 Dongho-ro 11-gil), 120m from Exit 9; and Dasan-dong public car park (60 Dongho-ro 15-gil), 174m from Exit 8. None of their restroom hours could be confirmed from published sources. Kakao Map lists the Yaksu-dong Community Center building as open 09:00–18:00 on weekdays, but that is the building, not the restroom. No toilet inside Yaksu Market could be found.
Open restrooms a little farther out — Exits 1, 4, 5 and 10
Per Kakao Map: Munhwa public car park (29 Dongho-ro 12-gil), 186m from Exit 1; Seoul Jung-gu Youth Center (19 Dongho-ro 5-gil), 246m from Exit 5; Yaksu-dong public car park (22 Dongho-ro 8da-gil), 305m from Exit 4; and Dasan-dong Community Center (50 Dongho-ro 15-gil), 328m from Exit 10. None of their restroom hours could be confirmed. The Munhwa car park itself is listed as open 08:00–22:00 on weekdays and 09:00–18:00 on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays and public holidays, so do not count on it outside those hours.
Chain cafes by the exits — toilets for customers
Hours are as listed on Kakao Map. Starbucks Yaksu Station (44m from Exit 2): 07:00–21:00 weekdays, 08:00–20:00 weekends and holidays. Starbucks Dongho-ro (32m from Exit 5): 06:30–22:00 weekdays, 07:30–22:00 Saturdays, 08:00–22:00 Sundays and holidays. Mega MGC Coffee Yaksu Station (36m from Exit 3): 07:30–23:00 daily. Compose Coffee Yaksu Station Exit 2 (226m from Exit 2): 08:00–22:00 daily. Paik's Coffee Yaksu Market (131m from Exit 8): 08:00–21:00 daily. Paris Baguette Cafe Yaksu (43m from Exit 10): 10:00–21:00 daily. Whether the toilets are in the shop or shared with the building, and whether they need a code, could not be confirmed. They are for customers, so buy a drink.
Burger King Yaksu Station — open until 01:00, a late-night option
Floors 1–2, 142 Dasan-ro, 174m from Exit 3. Kakao Map lists it as open 08:00–01:00 daily and 09:00–01:00 on public holidays. The station toilets close at midnight. Among toilets with confirmed hours, this is the only one usable after that (there are 24-hour restaurants nearby, but their toilets were not checked). The toilet is for customers, so order something. Where it is and whether it needs a code could not be confirmed.
Tips
- None of the restrooms checked around Yaksu Station could be confirmed as open 24 hours. The station toilets close at midnight, the open restrooms' hours are unconfirmed, and the cafes close by 23:00 at the latest. If you will be at a BBQ restaurant late, use the Line 6 station toilet by Exits 7 and 8 before midnight; after that, among places with confirmed hours, keep in mind the Burger King open until 01:00. Shop hours change, so check a map app before you go.
- Korea began removing bins from public toilets in January 2018, so used paper goes down the toilet.
- Korean public toilets usually have paper, but in some it sits in a large dispenser outside the stalls rather than inside — take what you need before you go in. Keep pocket tissues in your bag in case it has run out.
Yaksu · Places
Bisabeol Jeonju Kongnamul Gukbap
비사벌전주콩나물국밥A Jeonju-style kongnamul gukbap shop (bean-sprout soup with rice) at 146 Dasan-ro. The menu has just one dish (₩10,000), so ordering is easy: say how many people and sit down. Moju, a makgeolli simmered with herbs (it contains alcohol), is ₩1,000 on the side. It opens at 09:00 every day, so it suits a late breakfast rather than an early one. It is not the same shop as the branch of the same name in Seongsu/Ttukseom.
Byeollaeok Seolnongtang
별내옥설농탕A seolleongtang (ox-bone soup) restaurant at 193 Jangchungdan-ro. It opens at 06:00 every day and stays open until just before midnight, so it works for an early breakfast. Seolleongtang is ₩13,000 and the special version with brisket and knee cartilage is ₩16,000 (blogs from August to October 2026). The Kakao Map menu (updated December 2025) also lists ox-bone soup with offal at ₩16,000 and oxtail soup at ₩28,000.
Dumulmeori Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Sindang
두물머리양평해장국 신당점A haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant at 214 Dasan-ro. It is open 24 hours every day, so breakfast works at any hour. The signature Dumulmeori haejangguk is a beef soup with tripe, brisket, rib meat and intestine, ₩15,000 (blogs from June and September 2026). There are also a tripe and ox-blood soup and an offal soup, but their prices are not confirmed.
Fritz Coffee Company, Jangchung
프릳츠 장충점A bakery-cafe about a minute's walk from Dongguk Univ. Station Exit 2. It is split across three buildings, a hanok and newer blocks, and reviews describe it as roomy with several groups meeting there during the day on weekdays. It opens at 08:00 every day, and four blog posts say it is easy to bring a stroller in (two of them mention a ramp at the entrance). A May 2026 post says a morning menu (grilled sandwiches, croque monsieur and the like) runs 08:00–11:00, with other food from 11:30.
