Itaewon Station Exits: Which Exit to Use, and When Noksapyeong or Hangangjin Is Closer

Three Line 6 stations cover the Itaewon area, from west to east: Noksapyeong, Itaewon and Hangangjin. Itaewon Station is simple, with only four exits, but Gyeongnidan-gil and Haebangchon are closer to Noksapyeong, and the eastern end of Hannam-dong is closer to Hangangjin. Pick the station by where you are going and you will walk less.

From Myeongdong — change to Line 6 at Samgakji

From Myeongdong Station take Line 4 past Hoehyeon, Seoul Station and Sookmyung Women's University to the fourth stop, Samgakji, and change to Line 6. On Line 6, Itaewon is two stops on, right after Noksapyeong. Get off at Noksapyeong for Gyeongnidan-gil and Haebangchon, or ride one stop past Itaewon to Hangangjin for the eastern side of Hannam-dong.

Itaewon Station — four exits; 1 and 4 are the ones you will use most

An underground station with one island platform and four exits. Exit 1 is on the Hamilton Hotel side (65 m per Kakao Map); Original Pancake House, on the second floor of the hotel's shopping mall, is under 100 m away. Exit 4 has the Hamilton Hotel bus stop in front of it, and all three 24-hour soup and stew places (Jinseon Sogogi Gukbap, Nuri Maeul Gamjatang, Yukjeon Gukbap) are about 100 m or less from it. Exit 3 is the one for Tartine Bakery. For the Seoul Central Mosque, Kakao Map gives a 10-minute walk (about 480 m) from Exit 2, while one blog post says about 10 minutes from Exit 3.

Noksapyeong Station Exit 2 — Gyeongnidan-gil and Haebangchon

One stop (0.8 km) west of Itaewon. For Gyeongnidan-gil, leave by Exit 2, cross at the crosswalk and walk uphill; reviews put the start of the street about 400 m from the exit. Haebangchon's Sinheung Market and the German bakery The Baker's Table are also on the Exit 2 side.

Hangangjin Station — east Hannam-dong, Passion 5 and Leeum

One stop (1.0 km) east of Itaewon. It has three exits and separate platforms for each direction, so check which direction you need first. Passion 5 is a two- to three-minute walk from Exit 3, and the Leeum Museum of Art is about seven minutes on foot from Exit 1.
